Why we Started Nova Wealth
The Team
Elizabeth Evanisko, CRC
Wealth Manager, Founding Partner

About Elizabeth
Since 2007, Elizabeth has been bringing her compassionate, honest approach to client relationships along with her extensive professional experience. As a Wealth Manager, she has a deep commitment to helping people and enjoys the opportunity to work one-on-one with clients and help them identify their most important goals and dreams.
“Growing up - my dad owned an auto repair shop that my grandfather started. He worked with generations of people who trusted my family. Crawling under a car never enticed me, but the relationships he built on trust lasted for generations. This career allows me to have those things too.”
Clear, direct advice geared toward each individual is a hallmark of Elizabeth’s style. She appreciates the hard work that went into earning and saving the money that is being entrusted to her care as a significant responsibility.
Elizabeth continues to act on advice she received early in her career—to live each day in light of the legacy she will leave and consider what her ultimate reputation will be at the end of her days.
Western New York has been her home her whole life; she currently lives in Eden with her husband and young family. Life in a small town suits her well, allowing her to spend plenty of time outdoors with her family.
Education
SUNY Fredonia graduate with a double major in economics and political science.

About Jeff
Throughout his career, Jeff has maintained his focus on helping people by making a difference in their lives. As a Wealth Manager since 2011, he thrives on helping clients make important financial decisions that allow them to achieve their long-term goals.
Before becoming a Wealth Manager early in his career, Jeff was the Tight Ends Coach, Assistant Offensive Line Coach, and Assistant Recruiting Coordinator at Albright College, giving him coaching skills that he still applies today. Jeff believes strongly in the importance of providing financial education for his clients to empower them to make sound and informed decisions.
“Work hard, show up early, be where you are” is Jeff’s motto, and he credits his parents for their guidance in his life.
He works with clients from all walks of life, primarily professionals who seek long-term financial solutions but gets the greatest satisfaction from constructing retirement income plans that create predictable, sustainable income.
Born and raised in Western New York, Jeff now makes his home in Williamsville, NY, with his wife and children. Jeff loves spending time with his family - especially when they can get out on the water and go boating. Brett Komm, CSSCS, CRC
Wealth Manager

About Brett
Brett comes from a family that has dedicated their lives to serving people in their community in all facets of life. He grew up seeing the trials and tribulations of a family-owned business and knew that he wanted to do something that had a positive impact on people's lives. Math and problem-solving were skills that he had always excelled at, and the Financial Services Industry was a perfect match.
Brett takes the time to get to know his client's needs and wants financially. He walks them through past experiences and maps out their financial future in different time frames. Helping them manage expectations and set achievable goals that they can work towards.
“There are a lot of talented people in our industry, and with advances in technology, people can find a lot of information that may be able to help them with their financial goals. When I sit down with new clients, I tell them we are entering into a relationship. I could be the smartest person in finance, but if they don't know that I truly care about their lives/goals, then my impact won't be felt. I believe the time I take to understand my clients and guide them to make decisions is the only way to build a strong relationship.”
Brett is easygoing and caring and likes to make people laugh but shies away from the limelight. His steady and measured approach is appreciated by all of his clients.
A Bills fan and Dad, Brett loves spending time outdoors with his young family, playing golf, and taking his dog, Diggs, on hikes or to the dog park.

With over 45 years in the financial services industry, 23 years in retail banking, and 13 years as an Investment Advisor Representative, Barbara has been providing the Nova Wealth team and clients with her extensive experiences since 2014.

She takes her time to get to know all of the firm's clients, ensuring the smooth running of all communications between them and the advisors while providing a seamless transition for new clients.
Barbara has been a member of the Zonta Club of Cheektowaga-Lancaster, as part of Zonta International, for 32 years. Their goal is to Build a Better Life for Women and Girls.

Nakia Franklin
Licensed Marketing and Communications Coordinator

About Nakia
After receiving her Life and Health license in 2004 and Series 7 and 66 in 2005, Nakia started as a Financial Advisor.
Working with various firms until 2012, she then went to the trading desk at HSBC, where she stayed for almost 6 years before coming to Nova Wealth, in 2018.
As a former advisor and tax preparer, she has the knowledge to answer clients' questions or guide them to the person who can help them. She knows the benefits of informed decisions first-hand as she has implemented many of the strategies for herself.
“I chose my career path after benefiting from visiting my mother's financial advisor when I was 7 and ended up going on to work for the same advisor as an adult. I finished undergrad in 5 years debt free because my mother had an advisor. I have watched people live well in retirement due to the investments and advice they have received from advisors, and I wanted to be a part of the process.”
Nakia is an avid runner. She is the Upstate Chairperson for the New York State Charter School Parent Association, which meets monthly online to help parents of charter school students navigate their school system and advocate for their children.
She also travels to Albany to speak with State Representatives about the importance of school choice and charter school funding and resources. Nakia lives in Buffalo with her son and is a lifelong member of Bethel AME Church and has been a trustee since 2010.
